If you are in town on the first Sunday of the month anytime between November and April – be sure to check out the Key West Artisan Market.  There are more than 50 vendors selected to participate in these markets.  The vendors vary from artists, authors, food vendors, and anyone who truly exhibits the uniqueness of Key West and the Lower Keys.

The Key West Artist Market is held on select Sundays, in season from 10 am to 2 pm at Higgs Beach, in the parking lot at the Key West Wildlife Center.

You will enjoy meeting these great artists and plan to pick up a few items to take home.  Spend some time wandering from vendor to vendor and take in this great outdoor market’s food, sights and sounds.

We have picked up a few of our favorite items from the artists at the market.  One of our favorites is Melanie S. Griffith.  Her art is inspired by her time spent in South America and parts of Europe.  Stop by her booth and say “hi”.

We also met a relative newcomer to Key West, Carol Motta (The Glass Lady).  She sells great pieces of glass art here and at Mallory Square.  She has many interesting and unique pieces.

The Key West Artisan Market is a great way to spend a lazy Sunday morning taking in all that truly is unique about this great place.
