Apple Pie Drink with Everclear

I cannot tell you how many years it has been since I had Everclear, but this drink changed my thinking.  If you are not able to get Everclear in your area, feel free to use any high proof vodka.  This drink makes, well a lot.  Fill up your mason jars and hand them out as gifts or it does keep for several weeks in the refrigerator.  This drink tastes like Fall.   Apple Pie drink with Everclear is the perfect way to celebrate around a campfire, or inside on a cool day.  Ah… who’s kidding… it’s a great drink no matter when!  But, since this is made with Everclear, it’s pretty potent, so sip carefully… you have been warned!

Step 1:

Add the cider, juice and sugars to a large stock pot and bring to a mild simmer.  This recipe calls for quite a bit of sugar, which can make the drink very sweet.  If you prefer your drinks not so sweet, cut back on the sugars.

Step 2:

Stir gently until all of the sugars have dissolved.

Step 3:

Cool the mixture until it’s room temperature.  If you add the alcohol before the mixture cools, the alcohol content will drop.

Step 4:

Add the alcohol and pour into mason jars.  Put a cinnamon stick in each of the jars to enhance the flavor while the drink is being stored.  Store in your refrigerator.
