A few years back, my youngest decided to take a trip to Key West.  Being on a tight budget he needed a place to stay that was conveniently located and clean.  The Blue Marlin Motel was the gem he discovered.

Location

The Blue Marlin Motel is located at 1320 Simonton Street.  Centrally located to all of the fun in Key West.  It’s a short walk to Duval Street and all of the day and nightly action.  But, it’s far enough away that the noise of Duval won’t disturb your sleep.  The motel is towards the southern end of Duval so you can take advantage of the nightlife on that end, but you are still close enough to walk to Mallory Square to enjoy a great sunset.

The Rooms

The property has 57 rooms.  You can choose rooms that offer either a King bed, two double or two queen beds.  The staff takes great pride in keeping the rooms clean.  Each room has a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.  Cannot tell you how many rooms in Key West offer fewer amenities for a higher nightly rate.

The Property

The motel is family friendly, so if you are traveling with kids, feel comfortable in staying at this location.  There is a large pool that is heated in the winter.  Anyone who travels to Key West understands that parking is hard to find.  For a fee, the Blue Marline does have limited parking spaces.  But, as we always tell guests, once in town, park your car and don’t worry about using it until you leave.  The motel serves a free continental breakfast each morning.  Which I also believe is a bonus.

Overall

The Blue Marlin Motel offers a great value to travelers to Key West.  The property is clean, inexpensive and centrally located.  They offer many amenities that at other locations would be much higher priced.  But, this hidden gem is in high demand.  They usually are booked during peak season.  For best pricing, you can contact the hotel directly.
