Schooners Wharf Key West – A Last Little Piece of Old Key West

Schooner Wharf is one of my very favorite places to go in Key West.  It’s quiet, it’s old school, it’s Old Key West.  The moment you walk into the place you feel at home.  The beer is cold, the music is hot…. well, don’t I sound cliche!

Ambience

Really, for Schooner Wharf?  It’s not upscale that’s for sure, but it is comfortable.  Found in the Historic Seaport, the Schooner Wharf offer visitors as well as locals as piece of Old Key West.  The lower level has a rustic rock floor and plastic chairs and tables.  Rustic, but comfy.  Nestle in for a few cold draft beers and listen to some of the best music on the Island.

One of the best views of the Harbor!

Upstairs, well, that’s my favorite place.  The view is awesome.  Here you can watch the boats coming in and out of the harbor and enjoy an Island breeze.  Usually, we have the top level to ourselves.  Most people sit on the first level.  Actually, funny story.  We met someone at the bar who tracked us down on the rooftop.  He said that it was his first time being on the upper level; we believe it won’t be his last.

Food and Drink

Schoner Wharf offers a full bar.  Cold draft beer, wine and signature cocktails.  There is something for everyone here.  As you know, there are places in Key West that don’t offer a wide selection.  Beer and Boat Drink drinkers will certainly find a favorite, or two, here.

Happy Hour is so happy here it is offered twice a day.  First from 7am to noon and then from 5pm to 7pm.  Yep, a Happy Hour that begins at 7am.  Did someone say, I’ll take a Bloody Mary with my breakfast?  Speaking of breakfast, it begins at 7:30am every day.

My absolute favorite item on the menu is their signature Tuna Nachos.  I think they are some of the best .. anywhere.  Order a plate and let me know what you think.

Special Events

All throughout the year, Key West has no shortage of fun events.  A lot of them involve Schooner Wharf.  During the Holiday season, check out the lighted boat parade.  For Conch Republic Days, head over after the Parade for a great concert and witness the “surrender”!  You will never know who you might see while at the Schooner Wharf.

Howard Livingston entertaining all of us during Conch Republic Days.

Head over to Schooner Wharf the next time you are in town.  Pull up a chair and enjoy a great beverage, a yummy meal and awesome music.  It won’t take too long to see why this is a local favorite and truly “A Last Piece of Old Key West”.
