Scooby Snack Drink Recipe

This green shot reminds me a lot of a Pina Colada.  The coconut and pineapple, obviously are a reoccurring theme in tropical drinks and shots.  The melon liqueur adds an unexpected freshness to this shot.  This Scooby Snack shot drink recipe will be a favorite tropical drink at your next party… trust me on that!

History:

I couldn’t find much information on the origin of this shot.  One website indicated this shot was not named after Shaggy’s treats given to Scooby Doo.  Really?  Rather, it was named after the renowned Japanese holistic medicine doctor Nishiwaki Scooby.  Dr. Scooby uses a holistic approach to cure and treat his patients.  He strongly believes in the health benefits of pineapple, coconut, melon, and goat’s milk.  When these are combined with his secret distilled grain liquor it boosts the immune system and has an incredible healing and “feel good” property. Who can argue with that logic?

It was a shame this drink wasn’t named after Shaggy’s treat… it would make a lot of sense because after a few of these, you would be willing to solve mysteries while living/sleeping in a van.  Guess that answers a lot of the questions I have from a childhood spent watching too many cartoons.

Anyway, mix up a few of these and see which story you like best.  If you feel cured, then stick with the holistic medicine approach, if you want to chase bad guys and drive around in a Mystery Machine Van, then you are in the Scooby Doo camp.
